So, how have I spent my first week post-war? Doing very little thank you very much!
This weekend, however, I actually stayed pretty busy. Saturday I went into the office (yuck! but necessary) for a bit, only after stopping at The Other Side for the silver and lapis ring I’ve been thinking about for the past 3 weeks or so. After work and home to make a yummy green thai curry with pork (with plenty of leftovers for lunches this week) it was time to head off to the see local production of King Lear.
Okay, I’m going to digress a bit here lol. I know there were some criticisms of the play (how it was edited, the sound, and I’m sure others) but I really don’t give a rat’s ass about it. I admit my Shakespeare’s rusty and no, I didn’t read the play before going (though the thought crossed my mind), but I went for the sole purpose of enjoying a play–something I haven’t done in about 3 years. And as such, I thoroughly enjoyed myself with no need to criticize anything about it.
The young lady playing Cordelia and the Fool was simply amazing. She was just so much fun to watch. And what is it about villains that can be so fun? There were several bad-boys to choose from but I have to say, the gent playing Edmund was so wonderfully evil is was practically lust at first sight lol
Sunday was a little lazier, sleeping in a bit and then off to the C’s for a household meeting, very fun and informative, then instead of going to Knitting in Public as planned I detoured home ostensibly for some meds but ended up napping for a while. Oh well. Dinner was a big pot of lentil soup (again, plenty for lunches, etc. next week) and while that simmered I did a couple of illustrations:

If you read the comment under the dog drawing, there’s a link to Miss Doxie’s website (OMG she’s freaking hilarious! Be careful if you read at the office because if you have any sense of humor at all you will laugh until you cry!) and the entry that sparked that drawing. The crawfish is for the invitations, etc. to my Bayou-themed birthday party at the end of April.
As always, I have lots of projects going on and looming on the horizon, so ‘watch this space’ for things as they come up.
Honestly, I think you were hiding in the guest room, as that picture is a PRETTY DAMN ACCURATE representation of what tha Army of Hatred did to my mashed potatoes. That is awesome.
Also, I really want to get them all little revolutionary hats now. Can you imagine? They NEED those.
